When I started telling people I was going to open a coffee shop, they smiled and said “How nice” or “It’s good to have dreams” or “You’re going to drop out of univercity to do what?!” Plenty of people talk about opening a coffee shop. I’m sure that’s why no one really took me seriously. Few, however actually follow through. This was my fuel. I decided that I was going to do it, not just talk about it.
So I quit my job and I dropped out of univercity. The time was now. If I delayed, I wouldn’t follow through. I had to abandon everything else and pour my heart into my dream. I set out on an adventure that would test every bit of my collective will to succeed.
My vision was to create a community gathering place in the heart of downtown Widnes a place of fellowship, art, culture, music and of course, fantastic gourmet foods and specialty coffees.
I don’t think I ever really knew what I had gotten ourselves into. It took over a year and a half from the first idea to opening day. There were legal delays, finacial delays, contract negotiations..
Now here I am. Every day a new adventure, new challenges, and fantastic potential- all fuelled by a passion to serve the community I grew up in. Thank you for being a part of our history.
